Registration:  In order to reserve a space for your child, Busy Bees Studio must have a signed Enrollment Agreement, the non-refundable registration/materials fee ($50.00 for the one day a week class and $100 for the two day a week class) plus class fees for the last month ($100 for the one day a week class and $180 for the two day a week class).

Class Fees: The class fees for the year have been added up and divided evenly by nine months.  This has been done to keep the payment amounts consistent.  Some months will have more classes than others and this has been taken into account. There will be no refunds, make-ups or prorated tuition charges for missed classes.  Class fees are due on the 1st class meeting of the month and will be considered late after the 2nd class meeting of the month. A $25 late fee will be charged for payments received after the 10th of the month.  A charge of $35 will be accessed for checks returned due to insufficient funds.

Parent Participation: This class is designed to be a bridge between a toddler’s time with his or her caregiver and preschool independence.  For some children this process can be as simple as saying good-bye with a kiss and a hug. For others it may start with a caregiver staying in class all day, but working towards a slow and steady increase in the child’s independence and ability to remain in class without the caregiver.  So, Busy Bees Studio encourages parental involvement and welcomes you to stay and participate in our daily activities as long as necessary or desired.  If a caregiver is staying, we recommend that the child be given as much independence as possible.

Snack: The children will have a daily snack time, please send a light snack to class with your child.  For health and safety reasons, we will not allow children to share snacks.  Should a child with a severe food allergy enroll in the class, we will ask all families to refrain from sending the food at issue to class with their children.  Animal crackers will be provided for children who forget their snacks or need to supplement their snack from home.

Art: Please dress your child in play clothes as art projects are a large component of the curriculum and can be messy. All arts and crafts projects are intended to be “process oriented” not “product oriented”. It is the process of creating the art and what is learned and experienced in that process that truly matters, not the end result.

Potty Training: We are happy to assist your child in this process.  Children will be given regular “potty breaks” and encouraged to verbalize their bathroom needs. We do understand that accidents happen, so children must carry an extra pull-up/diaper/underpants and clothing in his or her backpack. If you have any special concerns or requests regarding potty training, please let us know.

Illness: The health of all of our participants is our greatest concern. We thank you for keeping your children home if he or she is showing visible signs of a cold, has vomited, had diarrhea or has had a fever within the last 24 hours.

Refunds: Registration/materials fees are non-refundable.  As this class is a yearlong commitment, 30 days written notice is required to withdraw. There will be no refunds, make-ups or prorated tuition for missed classes.

Missed Classes: We prepare for all enrolled children to be in class on their scheduled day. If you know in advance that you will miss a class, please email info@busybeesstudio.net or call 804-6309 to let us know as soon as possible. Missed classes will not be refunded or made-up.

Behavior: Redirection and positive reinforcement are the primary tools used in Mini Bees to keep children “on task” and engaged in positive interactions. Through positive reinforcement of desired behaviors, redirection of unwanted behaviors and the teaching of respect of others we strive to offer an educationally and emotionally beneficial environment. The emotional and physical safety of the children is a top priority.  It is never acceptable for any child to endanger the well being of another. If a child causes physical (biting, hitting, etc.) or emotional (name calling, teasing, etc) harm to another child, the parents will be notified and we will discuss a plan of action to avoid any future issues.

Drop off: We will be busy setting up for class in the morning and want to be sure the environment is set and safe before children arrive, so please do not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to class time. Upon arrival, we ask that your child is walked into the studio and that a teacher is made aware of his or her presence.

Pick Up: Children should be picked up promptly at 11:30, but we do allow a 5 minute grace period.  After that time, the instructors will be occupied and unavailable to care for children. Should a child be picked up after the grace period, a late fee of $1.00 per minute will be charged to the family. In addition to inconveniencing the instructors, a late pick up can cause stress to the children.  When picking up, we ask that an instructor is made aware of his or her departure.  For your child’s safety, no one will be allowed to leave with your child other than those named on the Enrollment Agreement. If someone other than those listed on the pick up agreement is going to pick up your child you must let an instructor know in advance.

Termination of agreement: This agreement is terminated when the child leaves the program and all fees due have been paid. Busy Bees Studio may terminate this agreement at anytime.  Class fees for unattended classes due to Busy Bees Studio’s decision to terminate will be refunded. Parents may withdraw their child from the Bee Creative class with 30 days written notice.
